A value investor is someone who researches for stocks that grow at a more conservative rate, about greater than 5%. Usually value companies are well known, strong companies that have had consistent success over the years. Usually these stocks are undervalued. Meaning a value stock is bought at a price below it historic prices.
Think about hunting for solid, established companies trading below their usual price. They grow more slowly — often above 5% — and look undervalued.
